The GeneSTAT instrument platform has been specifically designed for low throughput, diverse environments as reflected in: the single test format, the simplicity of performing the tests, and the durability and flexibility of the design. The instrument has a small footprint with only four moving parts and requires minimal maintenance and no calibration. The instrument platform performs testing functions using real-time PCR technology; a well-established technology for molecular testing. For situations where a higher testing capacity is desired, multiple instruments can be combined and operated off a single laptop computer. The results from testing can be read either on the instrument itself or on the attached laptop computer.
These key design elements all contribute to providing a platform that provides testing at the POINT of NEED (due to mobility and durability), and ANYTIME (no need to wait for sufficient samples to run as a batch).
